Cost / Financial Management 

 

My career as mechanical engineer started as an estimation engineer skillfully using estimating methods and the expertise of other project professionals to establish high quality total project estimates according to client and project management requirements and serving as an intra-corporate expert with methods, procedures, systems and development of historical information.

Later served as a controller for a company, which had 2,000 employees and a $20 million (USD)/year revenue, heading  a team of professionals, including accountants, financial and cost assistants in all aspects of financial accounting,  including budget preparation and management, audit, taxation, monthly closing books of records and account reconciliation.

I provided monthly and annual reports summarizing and forecasting company business activities and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present and expected operations. Analyzed business trends and weekly operating costs.

As a Cost Control Manager for an USD 700 million offshore EPC project 

  • Lead cost engineering functions encompassing budget preparations, forecasting, cost control and cost analysis. Interface and assist with cost estimating activities.

  • Provided timely status reports and variance analysis along with an early warning to management on critical or near critical activities. Assist with corrective action plans as required.

  • Variance Analysis &  Cash Flow Analysis.

  • Earned value management reporting.

 

I also assisted companies in ERP deployment in the modules for accounts payable, receivable, financial, tax and planning and budget control.

My knowledge in Cost is supported by accreditation as Certified Cost Professional (CCP) by the AACE.
